Are those CGI apes? Either way, they look scary.

I don't know, but I assume. Can't wait to see behind-the-scenes stuff on this one.

Big departure from the final 3 Apes movies as per plotting, but that's probably okay. Glad they kept the name of "Caesar" for their revolutionary ape.

Yes, those are CGI apes. It's better to see than a Marky Mark ape movie, but, I dunno. I really am getting irritated by all these origin stories as movies. It seems like all these story reboots are just to get another origin story out for old property.

yeah, I guess it would bother me more in this case if this weren't a movie that was promising a herd of apes running amuck. Perhaps the promise of rampaging apes is too low a bar to set for a summer movie, but after wading through (and enjoying) Thor, I'll take what I can get.

You guys know I LOVE the Apes movies, but they really don't make any sense after the first film, so a bit of re-jiggering doesn't bug me if I can get ape rampage.

I saw this trailer on the big screen and those apes are creeeeepy. I am going to skip this one, I think.

Is this a prequel to the original POTA? If so, how could that many apes take over the world? There's not enough apes on the planet to do that; not even close.

Hey, Jake! Yeah, its a prequel. If you follow the original POTA movies, this actually substitutes for either or both "Escape from the Planet of the Apes" and "Conquest", both of which took place in the past (of the chronology of POTA). AS for how there are so many apes? We'll have to see what the movie says. In Conquest and Beneath, they mention a plague that kills all dogs and cats, and people start keeping Apes. Its more than a little flimsy, but its the only way they could get to the right numbers, I suppose.

I see. Well, it looks cool anyway. I've only seen the original Planet of the Apes. Are any of the others worth seeing?

As a guy who owns all five movies on Blu-Ray, has a 12" doll of Cornelius and just sat through a 10 hour marathon of Apes movies at a local theater, I am the last person you should ask.
