I read once, and I don't know how true this is, that the band got its name from a thrift store in London and the name is supposed to convey the message "everything but the girl [working] is for sale". I always found that amusing. I suppose I could Google it and learn if it's true.
So - I have also wondered since pre-internet days about the title, but somehow never Googled it, I guess. And it looks like that was INDEED the slogan for a store near where they lived! So, yes! Bonus points for RHPT
