I was about eight years old when I saw Creature From the Black Lagoon - and it scared the heck out of me! I was use to cowboy and Flash Gordon movies, Laurel and Hardy shorts and Mighty Mouse cartoons - so this one kept me from sleeping well for a few nights. I'm not sure if that's what they did - dye one strip red and one blue, and then put them over each other.
