They've certainly figured out how to move Marvel TV there, and with good results. It'd be a tonal change, but their audience is there already. And I'd like to see Peggy form SHIELD.The Leaguehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04836241071795980225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7294499213897153104.post-32779829428715283712016-05-12T22:59:33.295-05:002016-05-12T22:59:33.295-05:00Dang, no season 3 of Agent Carter for us.Dang, no season 3 of Agent Carter for us.Simon MacDonaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14749383583517044214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7294499213897153104.post-81322193550240696272016-03-05T08:33:01.110-06:002016-03-05T08:33:01.110-06:00You are well aware of how much I love this show. I...You are well aware of how much I love this show. It's one of my all time favorites, and Peggy Carter might well be my favorite hero ever. She's certainly in the running. I won't say the show was perfect, but what it had that others sometimes miss is a sense of joy. Every actor in this show seems like they are having the time of their lives and that translates into a program that is incredibly fun to watch. There's this energy that you don't get from many current superhero shows (not that Peggy is a superhero, but she's in the Marvel Universe, so she's certainly a hero in my book). What I love about Pegs is the complete absence of brooding. She does sometimes carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, yes, but she doesn't take half the show to mope or cry about it. She gets on with her work and maybe punches someone in the face.

I was happy with the conclusion to season 2, but I agree with Picky that the icing on the cake would be one final season that reveals the development of Shield. Come on, ABC, you know Disney has the money for at least 8 more episodes somewhere.mcsteanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13340293646440856741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7294499213897153104.post-1817104016648604032016-03-04T12:01:08.910-06:002016-03-04T12:01:08.910-06:00I definitely enjoyed this season quite a bit (espe...I definitely enjoyed this season quite a bit (especially after the first episode). The addition of various actors like Matt Braunger, Ken Marino (and sadly only breifly) Randy Sklar who are known for their sketch/stand up comedy and letting them liven up the show was a great choice.

I've got my fingers crossed for another season, but who knows...onewallcinemahttp://www.onewallcinema.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7294499213897153104.post-47401499094442858062016-03-04T11:41:47.734-06:002016-03-04T11:41:47.734-06:00You know, I think we all start looking at somethin...You know, I think we all start looking at something and deciding we like it from instinct, and if the show doesn't fail us, we can start taking it apart to see what's working about it. I have some rather unkind words to say, for example, about DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" as the show has spiraled in quality since episode 1, and any dissection would be solidly in the "what is wrong with you?" category. I guess I'm saying - the gimmicks get me interested enough to give the show a chance, and sometimes I stick around even if the show isn't as clever as it could be or doesn't have much to say. And sometimes the shows are just amazing bits of pop art (see: "Venture Bros."). Sometimes they're brilliant bits of storytelling, and sometimes they're making a thrust into new territory that says something even if the show isn't burdening itself with outright (and often awkward) social messaging.

It would be fun to get more Agent Carter, and, honestly, I didn't expect a Season 2, so you never know. Marvel may just go ahead and do that, anyway, just because. Netflix doesn't need ABC numbers, and it's likely a better home for Marvel TV, anyway, so there's always a way. But if this is all we get, I'm glad we got what we did and the material never flagged. The Leaguehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04836241071795980225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7294499213897153104.post-77570533037372368452016-03-04T10:53:45.905-06:002016-03-04T10:53:45.905-06:00I just want to write a love letter to this whole s...I just want to write a love letter to this whole season. Obviously I loved the first season, but this season there didn't seem to be much concern about establishing Agent Carter as a kickass, competent agent. And I loved that. Plus, we got an amazing villain in Whitney Frost. (How did I not pick up on the Lamarr thing?)

I'm so sad this will likely be the last of Agent Carter because I think Peggy establishing Shield is probably the part I'm most interested in - and seemed to be where this season was leading (though I don't know the timeline). I also think it's really strange that Disney/Marvel seem to like her so much but just toss her in those films for a moment. Strange. I got it while Agent Carter was still in the game, but why continue if you aren't going to really build that further?

Anyway, thanks for writing something about it. Sometimes with TV/film, unlike books, I really love something but am not sure if I just love it because it's fun or because it does smart things. I was pretty sure Carter, though really fun/gimicky at times, did pretty smart stuff.pickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01906861942472773405noreply@blogger.com
