But occasionally there's a licensing deal I don't quite get. And we get some curious high end items that I can't sort out "who is this for?" While others make a lot of sense for nerds.
Sillage Fragrance: $300
This is the item I would be least likely to buy. I also don't understand fragrances as evidenced by my lifelong use of Golden Dial and Right Guard. And I assume I smell like coffee and old books if you get up close.
The irony of this is that Old Spice is putting out Superman body spray for next to nothing. I bought it. It is.. .potent.
Edge of Solitude Knife: $800
This is so neat and so overpriced. Knock $700 off, and we can talk. But the handle looks dangerous?
Ferris Wheel Press Pen: $250
I am not in the pen market. Are Ferris Wheel pens this good? I don't know. It is a blue pen.
Wolfpak Gym Bag: $160 - $200
This is the cost of mid-tier luggage of a larger size, not what you pay for something you toss sweaty socks into. A regular ol gymbag is still about $40-70 for a decent one at Target.
Fossil Watch: $250
This is not an extravagant price for a watch at all if it continues working for a while. Nice watches cost a hell of a lot more than $250 (although this is significantly more than I've paid for a watch).
But... I don't actually love this design. It's fine. But if I'm buying a Superman watch, I don't think "tombstone like" is what I'm buying.
I expected a Citizen Watch coming in at $950 or something, but no dice. What you will see is this watch sell out and then go for $400-500 on ebay.
Life-Size Statue: TBD
There are many high-end collectibles coming out, and that includes statues and action figures/ dolls that might as well be statues. And Jamie would surely say all of those were overpriced, but that's because she hasn't considered ordering a 1:1 scale David Corenswet for the dining room.
I assume this is for, like, businesses. And insane people.
And it makes me feel slightly better about when I buy a little Superman statue.
Toyota bZ: no MSRP but we're guessing >$35,000?
I'll be honest - Superman or not, I like this car's look in the standard gray. It's a 2026 model, so I look forward to what people have to say about it as an electric car.
Not from the movie, but worth mentioning!
Robert Graham: $198
I don't understand this shirt. It seems that you're mostly hiding the details based on how you wear it, so what's the point? Also, the hidden details are ugly?
I am not one for fashion, no matter what Meryl Streep said while wearing that wig, so I don't know.
Just a blue shirt, like a shirt one might buy at Dillard's.
But if you walk away, you have an awkwardly placed shield.
Under the collar, there's not a stain, there's this terrible pattern with a phrase tied to Superman if you really squint.
And then this oddball red piping hidden inside the shirt.
I am sure someone is wearing this to der klerb.
