Happy 64th Birthday to Cassandra Peterson, aka: Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
And, yes, once upon a time, I got to meet her for about 5 seconds.

| A good day. For me, at least. |
If you've never seen her feature film, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, I highly recommend giving it a whirl as you begin the Halloween season. The first three minutes are a little slow, so don't get thrown off. It picks up as soon as she leaves LA and just keeps getting better.
Last Halloween she also put out a 13-episode run of her riff-tastic hosting of some really goofy horror films. She does less in the make-up these days, for which I cannot blame her, and she's all over the place at fan festivals, running her own Comikaze Expo in LA and making TV and film appearances. She's as busy as I remember her being back in the 1980's and 90's when she was on my TV selling beer and whatnot.
She never comes to Austin as Wizard World falls during Halloween-time, and that's when she does her annual shows at Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in LA (Knott's Scary Farm. Because of course it is.). So, I have to keep my eyes peeled for Houston and San Antonio appearances, I guess.
Happy B-Day, Mr. Peterson. Hope it's a good one.
