As I mentioned, we're on vacation. So far, so good. We left Austin on Saturday in the early hours and arrived in Maui in the afternoon. I was completely out of my mind by the time we got to the hotel, as 4:25 AM is not my usual wake-up time, and I was just punchy. But we also needed to stay up at least for a while. I think we made it to 7:30 or 8:00 PM, but no later. The time difference is 5 hours, so we're talking after midnight.
But, yeah, Maui is beautiful. We're staying at the Hyatt in Lahaina. Lahaina is a coastal town that once was part of the whaling industry and is now, of course, a tourist destination. Maui itself is a fairly small island, and we have a car, so we've been seeing some of it.
This is Jamie, before she felt the sleepies totally kick in.
We ordered food into the room and ate like crazed hobos, and with a little food in our stomachs, we felt some burst of energy and went for a walk.
I didn't make it very far before I sort of collapsed into a chair and watched the sun set.
And was not exactly feeling myself.
So, I went to sleep.
I wondered where you guys were. How amazing!
