First picture of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman is - yup, that's Catwoman

cick for mega-sized

Here's the first official pic of Anne Hathaway as everyone's favorite thief/ femme fatale, Catwoman, in the upcoming Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. That certainly looks like the catsuit she's been wearing in the comics the past decade, originally drawn by Darwyn Cooke, I believe.

However, the goggles and blue lights are new.  I'm looking forward to seeing what this scene is all about (its not like the Catwoman I know and love would bother to ask before running off with the Bat-Pod).

Mostly I'm just happy to know there's a new (if final) installment in the Nolan Bat-films.

oh, here's some unofficial pics.  She looks good, I think.

I think she looks great in the suit and it makes sense from the more realistic setting of the recent Batman movies. The only think I don't like and it is a nitpick is the small blue lights on the goggles. Hopefully there is some good reason for them as a cat burglar wouldn't want to go around wearing lights.

I bet she just pulled that fire alarm and is all, "yoinks! I'm outta here!"

I trust in Nolan. This isn't Shumacher and his machine guns with neon coils on the front.

Blah, I am not a fan of Anne Hathaway. I have yet to understand any of Nolan's female casting choices for these Batman movies.

Yes, I cannot imagine why anyone would want to see Ann Hathaway in a skintight outfit for two hours. That IS weird.

But I suspect this goes deeper. You never forgave her for "The Princess Diaries 2", did you?

The only casting I didn't get was Katie Holmes, which seemed like a gimme for the studio, as WB likes to play "let's guess who the ingenue is!" by sticking bland-o's like what's-her-face in Green Lantern.

I'm going to use my status as a Junior Batmanologist with 36 years of experience and say Anne Hathaway isn't miscast, even if she's a bit young, but we'll have to see a trailer before we know for sure.
