Awesome. People look at The Talking Heads and see a quirky art band, but, the truth of the matter is that there's just a ton of musicianship, precision, and soul in that band. So many moving parts, all sort of playing parts that are delicate and easy to notice if anything goes wrong. But the band is well-rehearsed and tight in a way that brings to mind some of James Brown's finer moments...
Yup. Credit where it's due. Was listening to "Naked" on the way into work today and, man, they got some great musicians on that album and some really interesting stuff. And while I don't know if Byrne could mount another Speaking in Tongues type show, I know his smaller shows we've seen (you've been there with me for all but one), his little bands are usually pretty damn amazing.
